Day 10

Stormy day here in N GA.

Went to Home Depot to get 30 cubic Ft of garden soil.  Wow is good soil expensive.  $127.00 later I have 1.5 raised beds filled.

Planted carrots, cantaloupe, cucumbers, and a couple more tomatoes.

The white tube in the middle is for worms.  I will do a post on this in the future.

Day 9

The weekend is finally here. We went t to the Reflecting Riding Park today to hike. Went about 4 miles.   This is only about a 15 min drive from the house.  Great place to spend the day.  Cost is $10 per person.  Well worth it.

Day 8

Got everything ready for the wedding today. Beat the rain so all is well.

Having home made enchiladas for dinner.

I also got some real maple syrup today from northern Michigan.  Some friends of the family have a farm there were they tap about 8000 trees and make their own syrup.  I was lucky enough to get a bottle today.

Day 6

Still working on getting the grounds ready for the wedding coming up.  Having to work between rain storms.

While mowing the pasture today I was checking out the different kinds of grasses and plants that we have.  Early spring I sowed 4 or 5 different grasses, white and red clover, torpedo radishes and a few others that I can't remember off the top of my head.  Everything is coming in good.

Front pasture.

Day 5

Not much happened today. Cleaned out barn for a wedding this weekend.

Rained most of the day.

Day 4

Cooking hot dogs and making ice cream.  The ice cream is made with quail eggs this time.  Just tasted the ice cream, it is fantastic!

Storm is coming so got the yard mowed early.  Storm should be here tonight and tomorrow.

All animals on the farm are doing well except for Reggie the rooster.  His wings have some blood on them.  I think he is chasing the women around an they are saying NO!

Day 3

Went hiking on the Audubon Trail in Chattanooga.   Nice walk along the South Chickamauga River.  Lots of mosquitos near the river.  Park is right in town but it seems you are out in the woods.  Cost is 4 dollars per person.  Worth it but dought I will go again.

Day 2

Donna and I made a bunch of deviled quail eggs for our nephews graduation lunch party. They seemed to be a hit. Lots of questions from the 50 or so people that were there.  Forgot to get a picture of finished product.

We watched the movie Left Behind with Nic Cage.  Ok, but off the mark to what I see scripture says.  They made it seem that the rapture was just a warning to start doing what God wants you to do.  Anyway,  enough of that befote I start preaching.  Lol

Day 1

This is the start of my daily blog.  It will be short and to the point.  It is for me to get into the habit of journaling daily.  It is going to be about the things I do and want to do so here we go.

My name is Jack.  My nature is to be a nomad yet I am now a homesteader.  I think it is hard to be a nomadic homesteader if not impossible.
